Gyusan: The Best All-You-Can-Eat A5 Wagyu in Arlington, VA
Gyusan in Ballston, Arlington serves the best all-you-can-eat A5 Miyazaki Wagyu yakiniku with sushi: the Silver, Gold and Diamond sets, lunch, prices and hours.

Gyusan in Arlington, VA is, in our view, the best all-you-can-eat A5 Wagyu in Northern Virginia. It is a Japanese yakiniku restaurant, where every table has its own grill, and its kitchen also makes the sushi and sashimi. Gyusan sits at 4300 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 150, in Ballston, at the corner of N. Glebe Road, and opened in late May 2023, ARLnow reported. The menu carries the heading 焼き肉の専門家, "yakiniku specialist."
The star product is Japanese A5 Wagyu from Miyazaki Prefecture. A5 is the highest grade Japanese beef can receive, and Gyusan's menu is headed "Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu." The chef behind it is Chef Junzo Miyajima, IVEA's corporate chef. Gyusan's website introduces him as born in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, with over 20 years of experience as a chef, and says he "produced three Japanese BBQ restaurants in DMV."
Dinner is all-you-can-eat in three sets, priced per person: Silver $58, Gold $78 and Diamond $98. Members pay $10 less: $48, $68 and $88. The whole table orders the same set. Every table has 90 minutes, you can order up to 10 items per round with 10 minutes between rounds, and the restaurant charges 10% for wasted food. A 20% gratuity is added for parties of five or more. Children under 140 cm pay $38 at Gold and $48 at Diamond, and children 3 and under eat free.
Silver already covers a full yakiniku meal. Each guest chooses one "Gyusan Twins" plate, Australian Wagyu Rib Finger or Prime Short Rib, and the table orders American Wagyu chuck roll, brisket, top blade, rib finger, spicy short plate and tenderloin chain, plus garlic or spicy miso chicken, nine classic sushi rolls, salads, miso soup and sides such as cheese butter corn.
Gold, at $78, is our pick for the best value on a first visit. It adds one A5 Japanese Wagyu Top Blade and one Australian Wagyu Toro Kalbi per person, then Prime Short Rib, Bone-in Kalbi, Beef Tongue, Chuck Flap Tail, Australian Wagyu Shoulder and Duck Breast. Gold also brings Mentaiko Udon, Gyusan Ramen, Pepper Tuna Tataki, Yellowtail Jalapeños and four specialty rolls: Pink Lady, Sea Breeze, Flaming Finale and Temptation.
Diamond, at $98, is the most luxurious set. Each guest gets one A5 Japanese Wagyu Striploin, one A5 Japanese Wagyu Toro Kalbi and one garlic lobster tail. The table adds American Wagyu thin-cut tongue and sirloin, Argentine red shrimp, garlic oysters and scallop with vermicelli, plus unlimited salmon, tuna and yellowtail nigiri or sashimi. Each guest also picks one sushi special: Toro Nori Taco, Spicy Scallop Monaka or A5 Wagyu Foie Gras Nigiri, the most impressive bite on the menu. Wagyu Fried Rice, a Wagyu Slider, taiyaki with ice cream and mochi ice cream round it out.
The menu also lists dishes one by one. A5 Japanese Wagyu nigiri is $12 a piece, A5 Wagyu Foie Gras Nigiri is $28 for two and Toro Nori Tacos are $22 for two. The Mayo Madness Roll ($22) tops salmon and avocado with seared mayo, wild king salmon, ikura and scallion. Prime Short Rib and Thin Slice Tongue are $14 each, Wagyu Fried Rice is $29, and the desserts include Matcha Crepe Cake ($12) and Yuzu Cheese Cake ($9).
Lunch is the most affordable way in. Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except national holidays, the all-you-can-eat lunch costs $28 per person, $15 for children under 140 cm, and children 3 and under eat free. It includes edamame, takoyaki, crispy gyoza and chicken karaage, top blade, rib finger, brisket, spicy short plate, tenderloin chain, chicken and pork belly, classic rolls and sides. For a quicker lunch, the Sushi Lunch Platter is $18 and the Sashimi Lunch Platter is $20, each with a California roll.
The restaurant describes its Arlington room as a "striking bar and iconic geisha wall art" set in "sleek, LED-lit modern design." Gyusan has a second restaurant at 6200 Valencia Lane, Space C110, in Columbia, Maryland, which opened on October 7, 2025; this story covers the Arlington original.
Gyusan's website lists Arlington hours as Monday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday 12:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reserve through the Reserve link on gyusan.com, or call (571) 312-7373; walk-ins are welcome when tables are free. Early reviews quoted by ARLnow said it gets busy on weekends, so book ahead for Friday and Saturday nights. Gyusan also takes online orders and sells e-gift cards through its website.
